I’ve become a little obsessed with the shapes of my ice cubes. Out near the Greenport house, there’s a little vending machine that sells paper bags of ice that’s perfectly cubed. It made little summertime cocktails seem so fancy. So, back at home, I poked around and found these new ice cube makers and love them! The tovolo cubes are the perfect size for my miniature jelly jars that I drink out of, as well as the bigger glasses, for my iced coffee. The cubes are a little harder to get out of the silicone mold than your traditional ice tray, but the actual cubes are perfectly cubed every time.
I also found the ice maker for the big round ice ball. These are the perfect size for 1 ice cube in a little rocks glass, and great because they melt more slowly than smaller cubes. I was a little skeptical about how easy/good it would be to make perfect circles but the little ice maker works really well. I only make about 2 ice cubes at once though.
